Industrial Portable Restrooms for Plants, Crews and Yards

Industrial portable restroom rental fits five common jobs: plant shutdowns and turnarounds, utility line crews, road and bridge crews, port and logistics yards, and timber harvests. Each job brings more workers than the fixed restrooms can handle, or puts workers far from any restroom. Unit counts and service schedules change with each one.

General industry workplaces fall under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.141, while construction work falls under 1926.51. The 1910.141 table sets toilet counts by headcount: 1 for up to 15 workers, 2 for 16 to 35, 3 for 36 to 55, and more as crews grow. Ask your safety manager which rule your job falls under.

Service schedules for industrial crews are set by headcount and shift length. A unit is rated around 200 uses between services, so a 20-person day shift fills one unit in about three days. Shutdown crews running long shifts often need service twice a week or more. The schedule goes in writing before the first delivery.

Our driver needs three things to get on an industrial site: gate access, the PPE your site requires, and a placement spot the truck can reach. Many plants require a site safety orientation before the first delivery. Tell us the orientation rules when you book, and we schedule the driver's orientation ahead of the first drop.

• Gate contact and hours the truck can enter
• PPE list: hard hat, vest, glasses, boots, FR clothing if required
• Orientation time and length, if your site requires one
• Truck route inside the fence and where to park for service
• Any hot-work, confined-space or exclusion zones to avoid

Approved commercial accounts receive an invoice each 28-day cycle, with one line per unit and per site. Purchase order numbers and job codes can go on the invoice. Accounts not yet approved pay by company card. The rental agreement is e-signed once and covers every cycle on that site until pickup.

Billing follows the same 28-day cycle as our monthly rentals, and billing stops once you request pickup.

Units placed in the SCDOT right-of-way need an encroachment permit from SCDOT, and the road contractor usually holds that permit. We place units where the permit and the traffic control plan allow. Keep units behind barriers or well off the shoulder, so the service truck can park without blocking a lane.

Road crews on US-278, I-95 or SC-170 often stage at a laydown yard instead of the work zone. A unit at the yard is easier to service and safer for the driver. Ask about adding a hand wash station for crews handling asphalt or sealants.
